Definition
Percentage of total national health expenditure spent for rehabilitation. This includes all rehabilitation expenditure (e.g. for rehabilitation service delivery types, assistive products and workforce). Total health expenditure (THE) is the sum of total private and public health spending in the country annually. Both rehabilitation expenditure and national health expenditure are operationally defined through the system of national health accounts, which should be in line with the WHO recommended system of health accounts (SHA, 2011).
