Definition
Percentage of patients with documented paresis and notable functional impairment (modified Rankin scale ≥3 and/or sum Barthel index ≤ 70 within the first 24 hours after admission) with a minimum stay of ≥1 day, who were examined by and/or receiving treatment from a physiotherapist and/or occupational therapist ≤2 days after admission.
Numerator
Number of patients examined by and/or receiving treatment from a physiotherapist and/or occupational therapist ≤2 days after admission.
Denominator
Number of patients with documented paresis and notable functional impairment (modified Rankin scale ≥3 and/or sum Barthel index ≤ 70 within the first 24 hours after admission) with a minimum stay of ≥1 day.
Exclusions
Patients who are comatose at admission and patients with a diagnosis of transient ischaemic attack are excluded from the denominator.
