Defining Attributes

Definition

Number of days on which care has been provided.

Numerator

Number of days on which care has been provided., calculated as the rehabilitation end date (date discharged from rehabilitation service) minus the rehabilitation start date (date admitted to the rehabilitation service), minus the number of leave days during the rehabilitation episode of care.

Denominator

This is a continuous variable measure. The target population is all patients admitted to rehabilitation.

Excluding leave dates.

Casemix adjusted length of is the difference between the actual length of stay and the expected length of stay and is calculated at the episode level. Mean length of stay is the average adjusted length of stay calculated at the facility and impairment level.
