Definition
Percentage of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) patients who were current or recent smokers at enrolment in the program who were not smoking at program completion.
Numerator
The total number of enrolled current smokers or recent (<6 months) smokers, who were non-smokers (i.e., complete cessation) at CR program completion. To complete the CR program a patient must have attended at least some of the CR intervention components and have had a formal re-assessment by the CR team at the conclusion of the CR intervention. Non-smokers are defined as those who have not used any tobacco products for more than 6 months.
Denominator
The total number of patients who were current smokers or recent (<6 months) smokers at enrolment who completed the CR program. Enrolment is defined as patient attendance at a first CR program visit.
