Defining Attributes

Definition

Percentage of healthcare staff that have influenza vaccination. (Includes: all nurses and healthcare professionals, all paramedics (such as occupational therapist, dietician, physiotherapist etc.) and the employees of the (psycho)social service (such as social assistant, pastor, psychologist) who come into direct contact with the residents).

Numerator

Number of staff (health care staff) vaccinated against influenza in the previous calendar year up to and including December 31 and where the vaccine was paid for by the residential care centre.

Denominator

Total number of staff (health care staff) with a contract on December 31.

Exclusions

Personnel who are absent for more than one year on December 31, General Practitioners who do not have a contract with the residential care centre, healthcare personnel who work on an independent basis do not have a contract with residential care centre, healthcare staff who are only employed in day care centres assisted living facilities and local service centres do not count, and students. Administrative, technical and kitchen staff are not included in this indicator.
