Defining Attributes

Definition

Percentage of long-term care home residents in daily physical restraints over the last 7 days. Includes: Trunk restraint, Limb restraint, Chair prevents rising.

Numerator

Number of LTC home residents in a fiscal quarter who were recorded as having been physically restrained daily during the 7 days preceding their target assessment.

Denominator

Number of LTC home residents in a fiscal quarter with a valid RAI-MDS assessment.

Exclusions

Residents who were comatose or who were quadriplegic.
