Defining Attributes

Definition

Percentage of long-stay residents who have symptoms of depression during the 2-week period preceding the assessment date.

Numerator

Long-stay residents with a selected target assessment where the target assessment (interview either by resident or staff) meets either of the following two conditions: little interest or pleasure in doing things half or more of the days over the last two weeks OR feeling down, depressed, or hopeless half or more of the days over the last two weeks.

Denominator

All long-stay residents with a selected target assessment, except those with exclusions.

Exclusions

Resident is comatose or comatose status is missing.
