Definition
The percentage of hypertension patients with a high or very high additional risk having; (1) a total cholesterol level determined at least once a year, (2) cholesterol fractions determined at least once a year, (3) a glucose or glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) in the blood serum determined at least once a year, (4) creatinine in the blood serum determined at least once a year, (5) ECG performed least 1 x in 3 years, (6) who has been advised by the family nurse (lifestyle, control of the disease) at least once a year.
Numerator
The number of hypertension patients with a high or very high additional risk who have; (1) a total cholesterol level determined at least once a year, (2) cholesterol fractions determined at least once a year, (3) a glucose or glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) in the blood serum determined at least once a year, (4) creatinine in the blood serum determined at least once a year, (5) ECG performed least 1 x in 3 years, (6) been advised by the family nurse (lifestyle, control of the disease) at least once a year.
Denominator
All patients with a diagnosis of I10-I15 (ODC -10 codes) and marked with Grade 3 in the list of patients with chronical illnesses forwarded by the Health Insurance Fund in the current (reviewed) year and approved by the family physician.
Exclusions
The following cases are excluded; if according to the population register, the person has left Estonia (lives abroad) or the corresponding diagnosis of chronic illness is on the treatment invoice only with the extension "0 - diagnosis unspecified", or the person is older that 80 years of age at the time of calculation of results (in the case of total cholesterol and cholesterol fractions).
