This measure provides detail on the reasons why cost stopped patients from seeing a GP or nurse. The response options were: (1) The appointment was too expensive, (2) The cost to travel was too expensive, (3) I couldn't afford to take time off work, (4) Other - free text. Respondents could give multiple responses.
Numerator
Number of responses for each option; The appointment was too expensive, The cost to travel was too expensive, I couldn't afford to take time off work and Other.
Denominator
Total number of responses (people who answered yes to the question 'In the last 12 months was there a time when you did not visit a GP or nurse because of cost?').
