Defining Attributes

Definition

People who had surgery or care that was planned in advance, as a percentage of the agreed number of events in the delivery plan.

Numerator

Count of inpatient and outpatient interventions from the national minimum dataset (NMDS) and national non-admitted patient collection (NNPAC). Numbers are extracted one month in arrears on the first Monday of each month.

Denominator

Number of planned care interventions agreed by Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand districts as outlined in the PCFS.

Exclusions

Maternity purchase units for selected inpatient surgical discharges, minor procedures and non-surgical interventions.
