Definition

Adult patients with advanced cancer who are screened for pain with a standardised quantitative tool at each outpatient visit.

Numerator

Outpatient visits from the denominator in which the patient was screened for pain (and if present, severity noted) with a quantitative standardised tool

Denominator

Adult patients with advanced cancer who have at least 1 primary care or cancer-related/specialty outpatient visit

Exclusions

None (other than those patients who did not survive at least 30 days after cancer diagnosis)
