Definition
Look at the patient's mouth during the last week of life in order to remedy the problems (e.g. dry and chapped lips, dry mouth, painful mucosal changes, dental problems or infections) that easily occur at this stage.
Numerator
Patients with the negative outcome (i.e. for whom healthcare staff did not complete the option 'yes' that their oral health has been assessed, any disorder noted and such documented during the last week of life).
Denominator
All patients for whom the End-of-Life Questionnaire was completed for the Swedish Register of Palliative Care (SRPC)
