Definition
Percentage of home health quality episodes of care during which patient's bowel control improves.
Numerator
Number of home health quality episodes of care where the patient has less frequent bowel incontinence at discharge compared to start (resumption) of care.
Denominator
Number of home health quality episodes of care ending with a discharge during the reporting period, other than those covered by generic or measure-specific exclusions.
Exclusions
Home health quality episodes of care for which the patient, at start/resumption of care, was continent or bowel continence unknown, episodes that end with inpatient facility transfer or death, or patient is nonresponsive.
