Defining Attributes

Definition

This indicator uses survey results to specifically look at responsiveness of hospital staff to inpatients' personal needs.

Exclusions

The survey is completed by a sample of patients aged 16 years and over who have been discharged from an acute or specialist trust, with at least one overnight stay. Some groups of patients are excluded from the survey. These groups are: patients whose treatment related to maternity, patients admitted for planned termination of pregnancy, day case patients and private patients (non-NHS).
