Definition

During this hospital stay, how often was the area around your room quiet at night? The response options to question (9 in 20 measure) is: Never, Sometimes, Usually, Always.

Numerator

A subset of the denominator that represents patients age 18 and older who responded to a question about quietness of ward at night.

Denominator

Patients age 18 and older who responded to questions regarding the noise levels within wards within overall hospital stay, in the Canadian Institute for Health Information- Patient Experiences Survey.

Exclusions

Patient populations not included in maternal, surgical and medical. (To ensure comparability across hospitals and to prevent misinterpretation, results do not include maternity patients).
