Definition
It's not uncommon to have to wait while being admitted to the hospital. While waiting to be admitted, were you kept informed? The response options to question (21 in 20 measure) is: Not at all, Partly, Quite a bit, Completely, Not applicable.
Numerator
A subset of the denominator that represents patients age 18 and older who responded to a question about staying informed on their wait time.
Denominator
Patients age 18 and older who responded to questions regarding receiving enough information from hospital staff about staying informed whilst waiting, in the Canadian Institute for Health Information- Patient Experiences Survey.
Exclusions
Patient populations not included in maternal, surgical and medical. (To ensure comparability across hospitals and to prevent misinterpretation, results do not include maternity patients).
