Definition
During your hospital stay, did you receive enough information to improve your understanding of your condition? The response options to question (31 in 20 measure and 13 in 6 measure) is: Not at all, Partly, Quite a bit, Completely, Not applicable.
Numerator
A subset of the denominator that represents patients age 18 and older who responded to a question about information received to improve understanding of condition.
Denominator
Patients age 18 and older who responded to questions regarding receiving enough information from hospital staff about improving the understanding of the condition, in the Canadian Institute for Health Information- Patient Experiences Survey.
Exclusions
Patient populations not included in maternal, surgical and medical. (To ensure comparability across hospitals and to prevent misinterpretation, results do not include maternity patients).
