Before you left the hospital, did you have a clear understanding about all of your prescribed medications, including those you were taking before your hospital stay? The response options to question (29 in 20 measure and 11 in 6 measure) is: Not at all, Partly, Quite a bit, Completely, Not applicable.
Numerator
A subset of the denominator that represents patients age 18 and older who responded to a question about personal understanding of medications before being admitted to hospital.
Denominator
Patients age 18 and older who responded to questions regarding understanding of medication usage including medications taken before admission, in the Canadian Institute for Health Information- Patient Experiences Survey
Exclusions
Patient populations not included in maternal, surgical and medical. (To ensure comparability across hospitals and to prevent misinterpretation, results do not include maternity patients).
