Definition
The rate of absence of hospital employees.
Numerator
Lost time (recorded in hours) as any time lost through paid absences due to certified absenteeism, self- certified absenteeism, Covid 19 SLWP absenteeism and Temporary Post Covid Scheme absenteeism for the period under review.
Denominator
Available time (recorded in hours) as contracted time less annual leave and public holidays for the period under review.
Exclusions
Staff who are not on the payroll due to circumstances such as unpaid sick leave, unpaid maternity leave should not be included.
