Defining Attributes

Definition

Percentage of healthcare workers (HCWs) in hospitals, who have been vaccinated against seasonal influenza.

Numerator

Number of healthcare workers in Health Service Executive (HSE)-funded (or all reporting) hospitals who have received seasonal influenza vaccine by the end of the influenza season.

Denominator

Number of long-term or permanent healthcare workers that staff HSE-funded (or all reporting) hospitals.

Exclusions

Only data from public (HSE funded, managed, and staffed) hospitals are included. Data from other hospitals (private) is provided annually on a voluntary basis to HPSC.
