Defining Attributes

Definition

This indicator shows the rate of reported patient safety incidents per 1,000 total provider bed days for each of a Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG's) five main providers with 95% confidence intervals. Measures the number of reported patient safety incidents.

Numerator

Number of reported patient safety incidents.

Denominator

Total number of provider bed days.

Exclusions

Excludes private, independent and partnership providers, and patients who are registered with GPs outside of England.
