Defining Attributes

Definition

This indicator measures the age-standardised rate of acute care hospitalisations due to injury resulting from the transfer of energy, per 100,000 population.

Numerator

Cases that are related to injury from transfer of energy admitted to an acute care hospital.

Denominator

Total mid-year population.

Exclusions

Records with: admission category of newborn, stillbirth or cadaveric donor, or discharges with medical assistance in dying (MAID).
