Definition

Percentage of patient presentations to an emergency department (ED) where the time from presentation to the time of admission, i.e., the length of the ED stay, is less than or equal to four hours.

Numerator

Count of ED presentations who were subsequently admitted from an ED where the visit time is less than or equal to six hours (240 minutes).

Denominator

Count of ED presentations who were subsequently admitted from an ED.
