Number of respondents who selected Yes, definitely (most positive response) for the question 'Were you told what the medicine (or prescription for medicine) you left the hospital with was for? (out of Yes, definitely; Somewhat; No').
Denominator
Number of respondents who replied to the question.
Exclusions
Response: I was not given any medicine (or prescription for medicine) when I left hospital.

Data Collection Methods
Data collected using the adult hospital inpatient experience survey, administered to adult patients who spent at least one night in hospital during each survey sample period. Excluded: patients admitted to a mental health specialty, patients who were transferred to another health facility and patients who died in hospital. Patients selected for surveying are contacted by (in order of priority) email, SMS (text) or paper. They are provided with a unique online survey link to click on or type in to submit their response.
