Definition

The total number of incomplete Referral to Treatment pathways [the entire patient journey from receipt of a general practitioner (GP) referral, up to the point at which each patient is actually admitted to hospital for treatment] at the end of the reporting period.

Numerator

Sum of total number of incomplete pathways at the end of the reporting period.

Denominator

The target population is people with a GP referral who are awaiting admission to hospital for treatment (inferred).

Exclusions

Referral to Treatment pathways commissioned by non-English commissioners.
